Coronavirus (CoVid-19) Update

As we continue to monitor the situation with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), we are taking steps to help protect the health and well-being of our student-athletes, coaches and families.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update Last Updated: March 31, 2020

The Georgia Interscholastic Cycling League is continuing to move forward with planning and preparation for the 2020 season. At this time, we fully expect to run a complete fall schedule and look forward to seeing our student-athletes and coaches in pre-season training activities this summer.

The Georgia League is monitoring the situation with the novel coronavirus (COVID- 19) and we are taking steps to help protect the health and well-being of our student- athletes, coaches and families. We will follow the guidelines given by the Georgia Department of Health Services, and will notify head coaches and update this page concerning any protocols that we put into place.

Registration: Student-athlete registration will open as scheduled on April 1, 2020.

Pre-Season Activities: All Georgia League pre-season activities are suspended until further notice. We will closely monitor the direction of the Georgia Department of Health Services and the CDC for a date to start activities as a team. If you have any additional questions on coach licensing please email Lisa@georgiamtb.org.

Team MeetingsAll Georgia League pre-season activities are suspended until further notice. We will closely monitor the direction of the Georgia Department of Health Services and the CDC for a date to start activities as a team. Please consider conducting meetings by teleconference. Use your team’s social media to disseminate information.

Coach Training: We will be moving forward with the 2nd Leaders’ Summit on April 18-19, just in a different format. We will go to an online program that will still allow for us to collaborate in real time, but there will be a couple of changes. We will be covering only the classroom portions of the summit in 2 sessions on Saturday and Sunday. Because of the nature of the curriculum, the On the Bike Skills will be offered to the coaches that signed up for both days on one of the 3 alternate dates planned for OTB 101/201. Those dates are May 2-Allatoona, July 25-Road Atlanta, & August 8-Bartram. We ask that you please be flexible with us as we know that some of those dates may have to change as well. Visit the Leaders’ summit webpage for more information.

May you stay healthy, prioritize exercise and get a daily dose of the great outdoors.Thank you for your patience and understanding with the rapidly changing situation.

Executive Director,

Kenny Griffin
