From Coach Tom
“I am super excited to be stepping into the role of coach supporter this year. Chad and Lisa Hayes have done so much for our league and I’m looking forward to helping them and the League staff make GICL even better. With nearly a decade of experience in both mountain bike racing and teaching cycling skills and safety to kids, I hope to bring value to the coach supporter team and to help create more diversity in the organization for both coaches and athletes.”
From Coach Carrie

GA League Board Member and Prima Tappa Team Head Coach, Chad Hayes and his wife, Lisa Hayes, GA League Programs Director, are the inaugural members of our Coach Supporter Team. In the summer of 2016, Chad and Lisa participated in an intensive four-day training in Eagle, Colorado with the National Coach and Licensing Manager and over 20 other Coach Supporters from every League in the country.
Lisa has also taken on the role of GA League Programs Director . It takes a village to put on a quality youth MTB race. We need your help this season! You’ll be hearing more from Lisa on how you can get involved on race day and beyond for a fun and rewarding experience!
From Coach Chad
“I’m excited to work with my fellow coaches around the league in this newly created role of Coach Supporter. I’ve already learned as much from them as they have from me. My goals for this season are pretty simple; be there when a coach needs me and help develop tools to make it easier for them to run a team. I’m also very dedicated to upping our game in regards to having certified coaches leading our teams. The kids deserve good coaching and safe practices and I can already tell that our league coaches share my dedication to the students in our league. I’m proud of what we’re doing in Georgia and enjoy playing a role in the massive growth of middle school/high school mountain bike racing.”
From Coach Lisa
“I am coming on board as a Coach Supporter for the female coaches and athletes. I really think if we can get more women involved in the coaching side of the league, we will get more girls on bikes as well. Also, having Coach Supporters will give coaches a resource with more individual attention than the League Director has time to give. This should really help to draw together the coaches around the state to a more unified group.”
