Crankin for the Kids is a Georgia Interscholastic Cycling League FUNdraiser RIDE to help provide rider financial aid opportunities to students and coaches. The Georgia Interscholastic Cycling League is committed to making sure every student-athlete and coach has the opportunity to participate in our programs, regardless of their financial situation. On Saturday, May 20th at, Evans Private Farm, a community of families, cyclists, and supporters will get together to help support the Georgia Leagues efforts to get #morekidsonbikes.
Cranking for the kids offers a total of 6 miles of single track for riders of all skill levels. Participants can choose to ride a traditionally marked and designed League race course or choose to take the alternative more advanced route up the mountain. Along the route, riders enjoy a beautiful back drop of over 600-acre private farm with creeks and ponds throughout the property. A team of course marshals, roving marshals, and roving EMT’s will be spread throughout the course making your fun ride experience is comfortable and safe.
After finishing a lap, riders can join family and friends in celebration in a festival like atmosphere including, Crankin’ For The Kids grill, music, fun activities, skills clinics, time trials and more! 100% of the proceeds raised through Crankin for the Kids helps fund the Georgia League youth development programs for students 6th-12th grade.
Come help pay it forward to the next generation of cyclist, helping us provide healthy and active lifestyles through youth development programs for students 6th-12th grade.
Register before Sunday May 14th at Midnight to guarantee your custom event shirt and a Specialized Georgia Interscholastic Cycling League water bottle. Late registration kicks in Sunday May 14th at Midnight. No guarantee of t-shirt or water bottle with late registration. Online registration will close on Friday May 19th at 5pm.
Onsite registration will be available on Saturday, May 20th from 7:00-2:00pm. Cash or Credit card will be excepted. Pre-registration and on-site registration fees will be the same
Adults with bikes – $85
Kids (1st – 12th grade) with bikes (with parent registration fee) – $10 each child (up to 5 children)
Kids (1st – 12th grade) with bikes w/out adult registration fee – $25
All spectators (no bikes) – $7 each
Kids 6 and under – FREE
Only registered riders will receive t-shirt and water bottle.
There will be no camping permitted at the Venue.
The trail will be marked to the same standard as an official Georgia League race event. We would like to show participants how many volunteers and number of hours it takes to pull together for the students. (15 volunteers over 8 hours). We will have the official race course from the season marked at 4.35 miles. An additional 1.5 miles of trail will be marked for those who dare to take the alternate route up the mountain. Please note that the full race course will be slightly modified during the time trial race event. Approx. .5-mile section will be re-routed.
Ride as many or as few laps as you would like. Ride fast, ride slow, ride with friends, or race yourself!
Come to the famous Evans Family Private Farm to join a cycling community, take part in fun festivities, and enjoy the great outdoors! This trail is off limits throughout the year. Take advantage of the opportunity to ride some of the best single track in Georgia. The trail was crafted by the same trail builders of FATS trail system in Augusta GA. The trail winds and weaves across a beautiful 600-acre farm.
Kids Fun Ride
The kids fun ride will start at 11:00 AM sharp and is designed for kids in elementary school age range.
The course will be approx. 1-1.5 miles in distance. There will be a mix of gravel road, grassy fields.
This course is designed kid friendly and aimed at beginner kids mountain biking. Parents are encouraged to ride with their kids. The race will be 1 lap in distance. The kids ride is FREE. Parents must sign a waiver in order for their child to participate at Registration on Saturday only.
Climb High Time Trial
Saturday at 1pm, take part in an uphill Climb High Challenge time trial! Using the same uphill start as the League race, racers will be faced with a GIANT uphill climb that will nuke the best of legs. The course will quickly transition into wooded single track where racers will be challenged with a few technical winding sections. For the start of the race, participants will be corralled at the starting area and lined up in single file. We will start everyone individually according to skill level. Results will be tallied and printed with a few minutes of the last finisher. The top finishers will be awarded prizes from our sponsors.
Contests Winners Receive BIG Prizes
We encourage everyone to take part in our contests throughout the day. Want to see how you stack up against your peers when being timed to change a flat tire? Care to see who can stay upright the longest in a track stand contest? Test your skills throughout the day at all contests hosted on site. We will be awarding the top contest winners with great prizes!
Place a bid on one of our many great items donated from our wonderful supporters! Items include everything from a Rocky Mounts bike rack to Charlie Yates Golf round tickets.
Place bids for items via our online auction up until the day of the event. All bids will be final on event day.

Grill Off Contest
Got major grilling skills? Don’t forget to sign up for our Grill Off Contest when you submit your online registration for the race. The grill off contest will follow a points series model. Participants will submit a grill off entry into the contest by 12:00 noon. Once judged, finishing places will be announced and prizes will be given.
