Who We Are
Founded in 2009, the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) develops interscholastic mountain biking programs for student-athletes across the United States.
Coach With NICA
NICA coaches are role models and teachers who are open to learning the best practices of youth mountain bike coaching and actively work to hone their leadership skills on and off the bike.

NICA is More Than Racing...
NICA began as a race organization. Over the years, NICA has expanded to be inclusive of many stories: from trail stewardship, to girls riding together, to adventure by bike, our programs showcase the depth of our community and initiatives.
Coach Education Program
The purpose of the NICA Coach Education Program is to deliver comprehensive training to NICA coaches that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to provide quality programming to NICA student-athletes. Quality coach education is the cornerstone to developing great youth coaches who can support the mission and vision of NICA.

Help us give back to the trails that give us so much joy! Here`s how to participate:
1๏ธโฃ Choose a trail or biking spot that could use some love.
2๏ธโฃ Spend at least 30 mins cleaning up trash, debris, or pulling broom along the trail.
3๏ธโฃ Take a photo or video of your clean-up efforts.
4๏ธโฃ Share it via Instagram story tagging nationalmtb, OR post on facebook/instagram using #NICATrailCleanUpChallenge
On Monday (4/15), we will randomly select a winner for a NICA t-shirt! ๐

Show our trails some love! Follow these tips to preserve the beauty and sustainability of our favorite outdoor spaces ๐ฟ

๐ซ Respect trail closures
๐ Pack out what you pack in
๐ Yield to others on the trail and say hi!
๐ Avoid skidding and causing erosion
๐๏ธ Leave no trace, pack out trash that you see

๐ Follow sustainable riding practices (ie don`t ride trails in the rain)

Last November, trekbikes, one of our lead partners, held a mountain bike mechanics clinic for their local teams in Greensboro, North Carolina. They were able to teach student-athletes some basic tips, such as how to fix a chain! ๐จโ๐ง
