Switching Gears

Local GA League teams receive bikes and in-kind gear from supporters and local bike shops through this program. The Georgia League also donates used bikes and parts to organizations assisting “at-risk youth” in the Atlanta area through their mentoring and training programs.

At the Georgia Interscholastic Cycling League we’re working to get more Georgia students on bikes through our youth development programs. Our programs strive to create confident and responsible young adults and to provide ALL Georgia students the opportunity to learn about and participate in healthy and active lifestyles.

The Georgia League Switching Gears Recycled Bike Initiative donates used bikes and parts to organizations assisting “at-risk youth” in the Atlanta area through their mentoring and training programs. Currently, the Bearings Bike Shop is the beneficiary of our Switching Gears Recycled Bike Initiative. Along with the mentoring and training programs, our goal is to help the Bearings Bike Shop provide these youth with opportunities to learn about and participate in cycling as a healthy lifelong activity.
